He has lived in Guam, San Diego, Phoenix and Santa Cruz, and now calls the Pacific Northwest his home. Andoy began his fine art career as a watercolorist, painting subjects ranging from urban scenes to natural landscapes to the human figure.

“The lens I see the world through is one of a two-spirited, first-generation Filipino immigrant raised on the island of Guam, living in the Greater Seattle area for over 25 years. Art-making for me is a way to express diverse opinions, about the Filipino-American experience, AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) gay subculture, and pre-and post-colonial history of the Philippines.

Along this creative journey, I have been reflecting on the practice of decolonization and connection to ‘Kapwa’ (a shared Filipino identity). It is important to me that my artwork provides representation and acknowledgement to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) and LGBTQIA+ communities, honors my ancestors, and opens space for future generations.”
