Silence Is Consent

16"x12 Watercolor on 140# (300g) Arches Cold Press Paper

The act of silence is significant and deeply rooted in Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) culture. It can mean disapproval or disagreement while avoiding confrontation. It can be a display of obedience or a sign of respect for authority figures. Asian Americans, specifically the elderly, have increasingly been targeted since the start of the pandemic but it's no surprise that many of these incidents go unreported. Silence is consent. Don’t be silent.
